Footballer Dean Richards Dies After Illness
Former Spurs and Wolves footballer Dean Richards has died at the age of 36 after a long-term illness.
Richards played at Southampton for two years before joining Spurs in 2001
The former England U21 international - who also played for Southampton and Bradford City - retired in 2005 after suffering from headaches and dizzy spells during his time at Tottenham.
He was told by doctors he had an abnormality on the brain.
Wolves are planning a tribute to him ahead of next Sunday's game with Spurs at Molineux.
He made 145 appearances for Wolves after joining from Bradford in 1995.
Richards was then at Southampton from May 1999 until two years later when he signed for Tottenham.
The £8.1m transfer was at the time the highest amount paid for an English player who had not won an international cap.
A statement on the Wolves website said everyone at the club was saddened to hear of his death.
"Remembered for his trademark skilful breaks out of defence as well as his ability in the air, Richards will always be fondly remembered by Wolves fans who continued to follow his career closely," the club said.
Bradford City, where Richards was most recently a youth coach, added they were "truly devastated" at the news.
"Everyone would like to offer their deepest condolences to his friends and family during this testing time," a statement read.

A great career and then his life snatched from him... 36.. no age at all. Very sad.
